The Three Best Tools to Create Engagement in Virtual Training
Engagement is often the top concern when it comes to virtual training.
I stand by my three tips for creating more engaging virtual training - make it relevant, make it meaningful, and make it fun.
But today, I want to get tactical.
What are some tools that we can use inside of our virtual training platform (think Zoom, WebEx, Teams) to make it more interactive?
Three Tools to Use with Zoom
Kahoot
Kahoot is a tool that can be used to bring a fun, competitive game into the virtual environment. You can use it as a pre-assessment, to introduce a topic, to check knowledge transfer, or just for fun. You create your quiz on the Kahoot website, and learners access it through their smart phones during the live, virtual training. You can display the questions, answers, and scoreboard by sharing your screen.
Miro
Miro is a tool that encourages virtual collaboration, which is a great way to enhance the learning experience. You can use it to take notes, brainstorm new ideas, and plan. You can create the board and drop the link into the chat box so learners can access the same whiteboard on their own devices during the live, virtual training.
Google Docs or Slides
Google Docs or Slides (or any shared file) is a great way to allow learners to create something new with what they are learning. You can create a template and send learners the link, allowing them to edit in real time. You can give learners the opportunity to then present their slides to the group by sharing their screen.
We have so many tools at our fingertips to create more engaging virtual spaces. Some of these tools are built directly into our virtual platforms and some are external tools that can be easily integrated into our training sessions.
