The experienced consultants your organization deserves to move your mission forward.

You work hard to move your mission forward.

But sometimes it feels like no natter how much effort you pour into your initiatives, they just don’t stick.

Staff slip back into old habits. Managers feel overwhelmed. You new initiatives stall before they ever take off.

I get it. I see you.

I’ve worked with dozens of organizations, and I’ve seen the same pattern play out. You see a problem. You offer training.

And nothing changes.

That lit a fire in me. I knew there had to be a better way to help people learn, grow, and thrive in the unique complexities of nonprofit environments.

So I built my career - and Skill Masters Market - on solving that problem.

Today I help local, national, and global nonprofits:

  • Create behavior-based training that drives action.

  • Build leadership competency models that clarify what “great” looks like.

  • Develop managers into confident, capable leaders.

  • Design learning strategies that connect directly to organizational strategy and impact.

What That Means for You

When it comes to your organization, you have unique training needs that off-the-shelf training wasn’t designed to fulfill. You don’t need another generic training.

You need someone who understands the nuances of running learning & development in a complex nonprofit environment.

What you need is:

  • A clear, strategic path that works for your nonprofit and aligns with your mission

  • Practical, science-back tools that create change

  • Support for your people so they have the clarity and confidence to perform at their best

So you can:

  • Adapt to change without burning out

  • Strengthen leadership at every level

  • Improve performance with ease

  • Drive your mission forward

And that’s what we do at Skill Masters Market.

Whether it’s through workshops, robust learning journeys, or fractional learning & development support, we have the same goal:

We help nonprofits scale change, improve performance, and achieve mission impact.

Work with Us
  • Skill Masters Market was a one-stop shop for design and development of our blended learning experience. They handled everything from the design document to eLearning development to narration.

    Caroline Kritzalis, Start Early

  • Heather worked with us to create a custom Competency Model that is specific, clear, and actionable. She collected inputs from staff from across the organization, conducted focus groups, and researched best in class organizations, resulting in specific behaviors connected to competencies for each position level.

The Professional Learning & Leadership Development Team, UNICEF USA

  • I brought Heather and Skill Masters Market into the YMCA Retirement Fund for 2 projects – a virtual instructor led course and an eLearning. Heather and her team were great to work with – they’re skilled in all aspects of instructional design and development, and flexible in terms of applying their skills within the context of our learners’ needs and operational processes.

    - Terri Radcliff, Education & Communication Consultant, YMCA Retirement Fund

  • Always well prepared, Heather does her homework on her audience and uses innovative ways to get impactful audience conversation. She makes the time together fun and the [learners] enjoy their experience!

Meet Heather

I’m a southern girl living in Chicago. I’m fueled by coffee, curiosity, and a deep belief that people can do amazing things when they are given the right support.

And I’m committed to making the nonprofit sector stronger. That’s why I host the Learning for Good podcast and gather nonprofit L&D pros inside the Nonprofit L&D Collective.

When I’m not working with nonprofit leaders, you can find me lifting heavy weights in the gym, reading a good nonfiction book, chasing my 3 girls (and testing all those behavior change principles on them because spoiler: telling them what to do isn’t enough), and hanging out with my biggest supporter - my husband.

At the end of the day, my mission is simple:

I’m on a mission to help people do the most good in a way that feels good.
